Tenants of Faith

a) We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. II Timothy 3:15-17 – God breathed; I Thessalonians 2:13 – Actual Word of God; II Peter 1:21– Holy Spirit directed

b) We believe that there is one God revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22, II Corinthians 13:14 – Trinity; Genesis 1:1, Isaiah 43:10-11 – Creator, always existed, Savior; Deuteronomy 6:4 – Single Being; Hebrews 1:1-3, John 1:1-3, 14, John 14:26, 15:26

c) We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. Revelation 1:8 – Always existed; Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:31, 35 – Born of a virgin; Hebrews 7:26, I Peter 2:22 – Sinless life; Acts 2:22, 10:38 – Miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit; I Corinthians 15:3, II Corinthians 5:21 – Died on the cross for the sin of all men; Matthew 28:6, Luke 24:39, I Corinthians 6:14, 15:4 – Rose from the dead by the power of God; Acts 1:9, 11, 2:33, Philippians 2:9-11, Hebrews 1:3 – Honored by God & now seated at the right hand of Father God; I Thessalonians 4:16-17 – Those living believers will be caught up with the dead to meet Jesus in the air; Titus 2:13, Romans 8:23-25 - The Blessed Hope of Christ’s return

d) We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential and whose indwelling enables a Christian to live a godly life. Genesis 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6 – Man was created good but choose to do evil; Romans 5:12-19 – All of mankind is now sinful; Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, John 19 – The account of Jesus’ crucifixion; John 3:3 – Born again; John 14:6 – The way, the truth and the life; Romans 10:13-15 – Call on Jesus’ Name and you will be saved; Ephesians 2:8 – Gift of salvation by grace through faith; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7 – Grace and God’s mercy to the rebirth and renewal of the Holy Spirit being justified by grace; Evidence of Salvation (Inner – Romans 8:16 – Holy Spirit assurance; Outward – Ephesians 4:24, Titus 2:21 – Righteousness/Holy/Godly life; John 15, Philippians 2:12-13 – Abide in Jesus and God at work in us; Romans 12:1-2 – Transformed; I Thessalonians 5:23 – Spirit, soul and body kept blameless)

e) We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. I Corinthians 15; John 5:28-29

f) We believe in the support of the Gospel through the giving of tithes and offerings Malachi 3:8-10, Matthew 23:23

g) We believe in baptism by immersion in water and in the Lord’s Supper. Matthew 3:16, Mark 1:4-5 and 9-10, Acts 19:4, Romans 6:3-5, I Corinthians 11:23-26

h) We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as evidenced by speaking in tongues. Acts 2:1-4, Acts 4:31, Acts 19:6

i) We believe the Body of Christ is called to a specific purpose and mission. Evangelize the world – Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 19:10; Worship God – I Corinthians 12:13, Revelation 19:10, 22:9; Build a body of believers like Jesus – Ephesians 4:11-16, I Corinthians 12:28, 14:12, Hebrews 12:23, Ephesians 1:22-23; Unity of Believers – I Corinthians 12

j) We believe in the Biblical definition of marriage as described in Matthew 19:4-6.
